Looking back, you want to believe that every second you had was used to maximum potential, and that you enjoyed your life. I sure hope those are the thoughts going through my mind when I get older. But now is the time for me to make those memories and to live in the moment.
And now that I am a sophomore in high school it is evident to me that these are the times I will look back on with joy. I want to enjoy myself with my friends and family.
After all, these are the memories I look forward to reminiscing about. One way I like to enjoy myself is by playing basketball. This is something I enjoy doing and something I share in common with my family. When I look back to my past I will be happy that I did something I loved with the people that I loved.
I also play basketball with my friends, which I equally enjoy. I have fun when I play basketball and it helps me get things off my mind, so why would I ever regret spending my time playing it?
Without a doubt, I enjoy being outside so I find amusing hobbies that are outdoors. I like to go for long four-wheeler rides, swim, read in the sun, play basketball obviously! When I look back on my life I will be pleased that I spent my time in the place I loved and doing what I loved most.
If I am enjoying myself and staying safe and healthy while doing it, I think that is time well spent. Time is valuable and you should use it to its fullest capacity.
There is always something you could be doing that will occupy your time and that you will enjoy. And that is why I believe it is important to live your life to the fullest. Donate If you enjoyed this essay, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to This I Believe, Inc.
